Prologue Theatre Co. seeks actors for two projects:

Landmark Festival

Prologue Theatre Co. seeks a very diverse cast of more than 15 for the third annual Landmark Festival of short plays, March 26-28 (unpaid). Diverse casting is central to our mission, and we encourage actors of all races and ethnicities to attend.

Roles include adults of all ages, including:

One black woman: 30-50 years old
Two black men: 30 or older
One woman: 30s, any race
One man: 30s, any race
Two black women: 18-early 20s
One black man: 18-early 20s
One Asian male, 18-early 20s
Three women, any race: 18-early 20s
Two men, any race: 18-early 20s

Plus several characters that are any age, any race.


Take Her to See the Maco Lights

 Prologue Theatre Co. seeks a cast of two  for the Chicago premiere of Take Her to See the Maco Lights. Performances May 10-June 2 (Thrs-Sat). Small stipend provided. 

Characters:

JAMES JR: Obedient. Godly. A funny bone. About to inherent his father’s tobacco company, but would rather play music. (Needs to play guitar)

MATTIE – a beautiful black girl with big eyes and hair. Firey, slightly from the future, ahead of her time. 


Auditions for both projects are:
Saturday, Feb 11th (10:15am - 2pm) and Sunday, Feb. 12th (1:15pm-5pm) at The Think Tank ( 1770 W. Berteau Ave. Suite 207). Callbacks will be Feb 13, 15-16 (Landmark Festival) and February 18-19th (Maco Lights).

Production Staff

Stage Managers

Prologue Theatre Co. seeks a production stage manager and assistant stage manager for our  for two projects our third annual Landmark Festival of short plays. Tech March 19-21 and 25, performances March 26-28th, at City Lit Theater. The PSM and ASM will attend one production meeting, four tech rehearsals, and three performances. Ability to adhere to deadlines, handle unexpected challenges, and play well with others essential. Small stipend available.

Props Designer

Prologue Theatre Co. seeks a props designer for the Chicago premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's Take Her to See the Maco Lights. Performances May 10-June 2 at The Think Take (a 40-seat whitebox).

Applicants need to be organized, handy with a small budget, and possess a healthy sense of humor. We're not jerks, and we prefer to work with people who aren't jerks.

CALL FOR NEW PLAYS: 

Prologue Theatre Co. invites submissions of original full-length plays for its 2012-2013 season. Plays should prominently feature a historical theme or setting and give consideration to marginalized voices. For Please submit plays by March 1, 2012.
